Smetalo
Smetalo (Bulgarian for an abacus) is a calm counting game in Bulgarian for children of about three to six. A friendly hedgehog asks the questions in a sunny garden full of apples, pears, mushrooms, ladybugs, strawberries, butterflies and little fish.
Children count by touching each picture: it gets a blue badge with the next number, and the Bulgarian word for it appears below, so counting is one to one, the way it is taught. Then they pick the right number from big cards that also show it as dots.
- Five gentle levels: count to 3, count to 5, more or fewer, to 10 with the missing number, adding with pictures
- Ten-frames to read a number at a glance
- No losing in the levels: a wrong answer just asks to try again; stars count first-try answers
- A challenge with three hearts mixes everything for older children
- All in Bulgarian, with simple words and big targets for small fingers
- Optional voice: where the device has a built-in Bulgarian voice, a button reads the questions aloud
Code and text written with AI assistance; checked by PN Scripts with automated tests. Every shape is drawn and every sound synthesised by code; there are no AI-generated image or audio files.
