Linkhallow: Hex Board Game
Hex, the connection board game where every move is attack and defence: link your two edges before your rival links theirs. 7x7, 9x9 or classic 11x11 boards against a Monte Carlo AI in three strengths, or a friend. Free, no ads, no tracking.
Hex is the game where every move is both attack and defence. Amber wants a chain of stones from the top edge to the bottom edge; Teal wants one from left to right. One of them always gets there, because the board cannot be blocked for both.
Linkhallow puts Hex in a dim lantern hall with glowing edges and gem stones. The AI thinks with Monte Carlo tree search on a time budget and answers intrusions into its bridges, so it plays real shapes rather than random stones.
- Three board sizes: 7x7 for quick games, 9x9 and the classic 11x11
- AI with three strengths: Easy, Normal and Hard think for longer and choose more carefully
- Friend mode: two players on one screen
- Swap rule: optional; the second player may take over the opening stone, mirrored
- Undo and highlight: take back moves, and the winning chain lights up
- Keyboard or touch: a cursor with Enter, or tap the cells; settings and your record are saved
Code and text written with AI assistance; checked by PN Scripts with automated tests. Every shape is drawn and every sound synthesised by code; there are no AI-generated image or audio files.
