Heartwold
Heartwold is Hearts, the trick-taking classic, against three AI players at a wine-red table. Pass three cards, follow suit, and keep the hearts and the queen of spades away from you, or take every single point and shoot the moon.
The match ends when anyone reaches 100. The lowest score wins.
- Full rules: passing rotates left, right, across and none; the 2 of clubs leads; no points on the first trick; hearts must be broken before they are led.
- Shooting the moon: take all 26 points and the other three players get 26 each.
- AI with a plan: opponents void short suits when passing, duck under the winning card, dump the queen and high hearts, flush out the queen with low spades and try for the moon when their hand is strong.
- Moon defence: when one player is collecting every point late in a hand, the others take a heart on purpose to stop the moon.
- Readable table: large card faces, dimmed illegal cards, a reason for every refused play, animated tricks and a score sheet after each hand.
- Keyboard, mouse or touch: arrows and Enter, a click, or tap to raise and tap again to play; a 2x speed toggle for the AI.
Code and text written with AI assistance; checked by PN Scripts with automated tests. Every shape is drawn and every sound synthesised by code; there are no AI-generated image or audio files.
