Chimewild
A quiet garden that is also a step sequencer. Each row of soil is a note of the C major pentatonic scale and each of the 16 columns is a step. Plant a flower and it chimes every time the morning light sweeps over it, so anything you plant sounds good together.
Four flower beds are four instruments synthesised live with Web Audio: bluebells ring like bells, tulips knock like a marimba, daisies pluck and mushrooms hold the bass. When you have had enough of playing, the Challenge plays ten short melodies for you to rebuild by ear.
- 16-step grid, 8 pentatonic notes: drag across the soil to plant whole lines at once
- 4 instrument beds: bells, marimba, pluck and bass, each with its own flower
- Tempo and swing: 60 to 180 BPM and up to 60% swing
- 6 save slots and share codes: copy a short CW1 code, paste one back, or open the game with ?song=CODE
- Challenge mode: 10 melodies by ear, five petals, arrows after the second wrong check
- Keyboard or touch: everything works with keys alone or with a finger
Code and text written with AI assistance; checked by PN Scripts with automated tests. Every shape is drawn and every sound synthesised by code; there are no AI-generated image or audio files.
